Protein Purification Scientist, Production
Looking for a Assoc Scientist to support protein production, working to purify high quality proteins. The goal of this product line is to deliver outstanding products to our customers and help achieve our aim of being the most influential company in life sciences by helping advance global understanding of biology and causes of disease, which, in turn, will drive new treatments and improved health.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design and modify purification and production protocols to meet reagent requirements and deliverables
Understanding and demonstrated practice in recombinant proteins and protein purification
Directly interact and update the project progress with the project manager for an efficient delivery
Anticipate problems to minimize issues, work to resolve any issues to minimize impact on success of projects
Collaborate and exchange the technique protocols, tips and experience with other team members internally or externally
Create and manage good documentation of experimental data and reagent inventory.
Work in accordance with current health and safety procedures, abide by laboratory SOPs and work within H&S, Ethical, and quality standards
Support troubleshooting of technical issues, work to resolve any issues to minimize impact on success of projects.
About you:
BS in a scientific discipline with 3+ years of experience, or MS in a scientific discipline
Experience in the purification of proteins from E. coli, insect, and human cell culture systems using Affinity, Size Exclusion, Ion Exchange, and other chromatographic methods
Highly skilled in standard molecular biology techniques and cell culture techniques (yeast, bacterial, mammalian)
Effective resource and time management is essential
Effective oral and written communication as well as strong interpersonal skills required
Hard-working, enthusiastic, self-motivated, team-oriented with a strong collaborative spirit
Experience with AKTA FPLC systems
Experience with protein analysis like SDS-PAGE, western blot, and analytical SEC
Strong laboratory skills, effective documentation skills and the ability to clearly analyze and report results to colleagues
