Job Description

The APiS - FMEA SME will work as a key member within the Quality team to support the development of FMEAs for proprietary cell technology (design and process). The FMEA SME will be responsible for working with both the product and process teams to develop DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and link them together for holistic risk assessment in APiS IQ.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in both design and process FMEA development and use.
  • Expert level knowledge of APiS IQ software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define internal standards on structure and linkages within design and process FMEAs that best allow for robust risk assessment and reduction
  • Coordinate FMEA creation with process and design owners
  • Coordinate data connections between process and product teams to ensure two way risk visibility
  • Report out on FMEA status across multiple partner projects
  • Provide guidance to our partners on FMEA use and tool specifics
  • Provide guidance to IT department on APIS licensing requirements to support business needs
  • Serve as internal FMEA and APIS software expert to provide guidance to process and product teams once they have completed basic training in software usage

Required Experience

  • BS/MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience, experience within the lithium ion industry is preferred, but not required
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with APiS IQ for FMEA creation and management

Additional Information

Physical and Environmental Standards

  • Capable of working in low moisture dry room environment: < 1.0% Relative Humidity (-50°C dew point)
  • Capable of wearing clean room attire when working in dry room environment: face mask, hair net, safety glasses, gloves, coverall suit and shoe covers
  • Must be capable of working long hours as needed
  • Travel will be required in support of customer discussions, supplier discussions, and relevant conference attendance.
