- Pay rate: Starting rate $20/hr. plus differentials (some flex) | 2nd Shift: $1.50 | 3rd Shift: $2.50
- Job Location: Warren, RI
- Schedule: 2nd Shift: 2:30pm-11pm (30 min unpaid break) | 3rd Shift: 10:30pm-7am (30 min unpaid break)

Overview:
CNC Machine Operators are responsible for operating and troubleshooting CNC machines according to scheduled orders to produce quality machine parts for the Aerospace and Automotive industries. Machines include lathes, mills, grinders and manual tools.
The ideal candidate for this position can demonstrate the ability to:
- Use measuring equipment effectively such as micrometers and calipers
- Work from written procedures and work routers
- Dismantle jigs, tools, and special fixtures
- Make tooling as necessary
- Maintain drawing specifications by monitoring dimensional and visual characteristics to detect non-conformances
- Handle raw material and hazardous waste safely and in an environmentally responsible manner
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- High School Diploma or equivalent (will consider candidates with considerable experience in lieu of education requirement)
- Experience in CNC Machining for Mills, Lathes or Grinding, required
- Experience with CNC Certification and Training
- Effective verbal/written communications skills and organizational skills
- Must have strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance, and flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Work in a manner that complies with all site policies and procedures, actively demonstrate SG principles of conduct & action, and adhere to all EHS requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
- 12+ months’ experience In CNC Machining for Mills and Lathes preferred
- 1+ years’ Experience with multi-axis machining and live tooling Preferred
- 1+ years’ Experience working in with high-mix, low-volume production environment Preferred.
- Read work orders to understand and meet customer specifications
- Ability to maintain drawing specifications by monitoring dimensional and visual characteristics to detect non-conformances
- Perform complex troubleshooting with little or no supervision
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have an effective command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of proper safety procedures
- Must have strong work ethics, attention to detail, good attendance, and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
