The Calibration Technician is responsible for the installation, modification, testing, troubleshooting, repair, preventive and predictive maintenance, removal, and replacement of all instrumentation and electrical equipment rated under 50 volts. The Calibration Technician undertakes the calibration of instruments used in product manufacturing, site utility systems, and laboratory equipment to ensure the accuracy of measurements related to pressure, temperature, time, etc. The Calibration Technician can perform a variety of defined complex assignments and must have the ability to work autonomously. The Technician applies standardized methods in accordance with cGMP regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Complete a wide range of electronic calibrations adjustments and repairs using a wide variety of electronic test equipment including; spectrum analyzers, signal generators, data bus analyzers, power meters/analyzers, microwave generators, R&S FSMR, HP8902/03 equipment and all types of equipment including electronic and dimensional tools and test equipment.
Calibrates and troubleshoots fault isolation, adjustment and repairs using Test Measure Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) certified laboratory standards.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, service, calibrate, and repair all production, non-production, and test equipment and can also assist with performing preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
Maintain calibration traceability integrity and compliance with applicable cGMP regulations and ISO standards.
Responsible for the technical and cGMP completion of calibration records and work orders.
Liaison with manufacturing and laboratory staff to communicate specific instrumentation work performed and the status of their equipment.
Coordinates external calibrations, and directs and reviews calibration activities of outside calibration vendors
Basic mechanical and physical dimensional calibrations
Accurately records/reports maintenance actions using applicable maintenance data collection.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
HS Diploma and technical degree, formal military PMEL, TMDE or calibration school training or equivalent work experience necessary
Advanced Calibration Training
Some prior cGMP experience.
3+ years experience working in a regulated industry.
Knowledge of facilities, laboratory, and process equipment.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products. Prior experience with work order management system is required.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
Working Knowledge of: MS Office (Word and Excel), Automated Calibration software (MetCal)
Expertise in the following:
Calipers and Micrometers, Scales and balances, Vacuum/Pressure Gauges, Temperature/Humidity devices, DC Supplies and Loads, Multimeters (handheld, precision), Semiconductor Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Electrometers, LCR Meters, Oscilloscopes (to 20 GHz), RF signal Generators, and Spectrum/Network Analyzers (to 18 GHz), AC/DC Low Voltage (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters, voltage calibrators etc.), RF Frequency measuring and Generating Devices (spectrum analyzers, frequency generators, FR counters)
Temperature & Humidity devices (data loggers, hygrometer, environmental chambers, ovens)
High Voltage Generating and Measuring equipment (Hipot tester, Meggers, Insulation testers)
Full understanding of electronic circuits, theory, and schematics.
K1, K2, K8: DC/Electrical Standards Calibrations
K3, K4: Frequency/RF calibrations
K5: Temperature/Humidity calibrations (large emphasis)
K6: Physical Dimensional Test Equipment calibrations
K9: Automated Test Equipment (Fluke Met/Cal)
IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plus.
