Job Summary
The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager develops category sourcing strategies and leads execution of sourcing events both as an individual contributor and by influencing, leading, and advising a network of procurement team members. This individual partners with cross-functional stakeholders to drive competitive advantage in the Image Generation technical category, drives savings, and achieves optimal total cost of ownership through partnerships with strategic suppliers, solution innovation, supply base management, internal demand management, and process/policy enhancements.Â
The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge. This individual consistently demonstrates professional expertise, can resolve the most complex issues independently in creative and effective ways and provides expertise to assist others in issue resolution. This individual is involved in developing, modifying, and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect. They create and/or lead improvement initiatives and develop reports and management systems to enhance business results.
This individual regularly provides guidance and direction to less experienced co-workers and may coordinate activities of co-workers (lead).Â

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Recognized as subject matter expert in the Image Generation technical category with in-depth knowledge of technologies, supply base and industry developments.Â
- Accountable for overall category management & supplier performance.
- Maintain in-depth understanding of Image Generation technologies, trends, supply base developments, financials, and market insights.
- Perform market analysis, actively engage across the industry, conduct benchmarking, identify best practices.
- Provide actionable insights to internal stakeholders (incl Engineering, Marketing)
- Deliver expertise and advise as trusted advisor to the Engineering and Supply Chain organizations.
- Develop a comprehensive long-term roadmap to strategically source the category.Â
- Ensure continuity of supply
- Improve performance and reduce costs.
- Drive innovation, maintain and enhance our competitive advantage.
- Lead supplier sourcing/selection activities.
- Lead vendor selection, assessing vendor capabilities, developing alternate sources, evaluating vendor performance, and negotiating price and delivery schedules.
- Lead contract/agreement negotiations with suppliers to maximize value.
- Manage performance and relationships of key strategic suppliers serving as key point of contact.
- Develop and drive Strategic Relationship Management programs with key suppliers.Â
- Lead regular executive business reviews.
- Identify high potential suppliers and drive supplier development initiatives.
- Consistently identify, define, and drive Value Improvement and Process Improvement projects to achieve annual cost reduction targets and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to cross functional teams, and own and simultaneously manage several large projects or initiatives.Â
- Functions in a technical leadership role.Â
- Provides guidance and direction to less experienced coworkers.Â
- Delegates and supervises work activities and supports personnel to meet project objectives.Â
- Effectively leads meetings, tracks action item progress and pro-actively drives execution of objectives.
- Education: bachelor’s degree, may have MBA/Master’s (Preferred) Engineering or other related technical field
- Experience: 10+ Years with bachelor’s degree OR 7+ Years with master’s degree
- Deep technical skills, knowledge, and work experience in the Image Generation technical field.Â
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead without authority.
- Strong strategic thinking and strategy development skills
- Strong drive for results
- Strong analytical aptitude with ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Prior experience in Supply Chain or Sourcing/Procurement
- Sourcing expertise and negotiation skills
- APICS, CPIM, CPSM, CPM or PMP certifications
- Experience with Oracle ERP system
- Experience with Agile Product Lifecycle Management system
- Experience in an FDA approved Medical Device Environment
