We are actively recruiting for an IT Support Specialist to join a highly specialized IT support team working within a world-class pharmaceutical lab environment in Rahway, NJ. This is not your typical desktop support role — this is hands-on, highly visible IT work embedded within the science community. You’ll be supporting the critical IT infrastructure that enables cutting-edge research.
The Ideal Candidate:
? Has supported IT systems within pharma, scientific, or wet lab environments.
? Is comfortable working in a regulated/validated setting.
? Understands the urgency and care required in supporting research environments.
? Is seeking long-term stability (no job-hoppers).
- Provide onsite technical support for lab-based IT infrastructure (from the ethernet cable to the PC).
- Support Windows operating systems, networking, desktops, backups, and connectivity within the lab environment.
- Administer Windows-based security (user permissions, local policies, group policies, etc.).
- Manage device life cycle: onboarding, relocation, retirement.
- Interface with lab instrument vendors regarding PC connectivity (you will NOT service lab equipment).
- Troubleshoot network, hardware, and OS issues in collaboration with infrastructure teams.
- Document inventories, write reports, and contribute to change management efforts.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, SOPs, and safety protocols.
Required Skills:
- Microsoft Windows OS administration
- Networking fundamentals, remote computing, backup systems
- Experience supporting IT systems in validated lab environments
- Troubleshooting skills from networking to end-user devices
Preferred Tools/Experience:
- Acronis
- ServiceNow
- Tanium
- Network label printers
- 2-round interview process (1st round virtual)
- Background check, drug screen, and medical clearances required due to lab environment
- Must be able to work onsite in a controlled lab environment, including wearing PPE when necessary
