Position Summary:
This position will play a crucial role in aligning and optimizing chemical lab practice at the site. This position will require strong leadership and project management skills to ensure consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement within our chemical operations. You will lead a team of Chemical Lab associates to evaluate current practices, compare them, and make recommendations for standardization and improvement. This role will focus on achieving greater operational excellence and enhancing overall performance.

Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate the Chemical Operations Optimization project to align and optimize chemical lab practices.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the current chemical lab practices, including vendors, chemicals, recipes, protocols, safety measures, and equipment.
Conduct thorough evaluations of the chemical lab practices at each location, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with the Chemical Lab team to understand their specific needs, challenges, and suggestions for improvement.
Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to streamline the chemical lab processes, including protocols, procedures, documentation, and training programs.
Identify and incorporate best practices to create an approach to chemical operations that maximizes efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Quality Assurance, Research and Development, and Operations, to ensure alignment and integration of optimized chemical operations with other business functions.
Monitor and track progress of the optimization initiatives, ensuring timely execution and delivery of key milestones and objectives.
Support the implementation of the standardized chemical operations by providing training, guidance, and ongoing support to the Chemical Lab team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing among team members, encouraging innovative solutions and best practices.
This is a hands on position where leadership is not only provided in the lab but also overseeing the chemistry charges and at times performing this activity yourself.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
Proven experience in project management, preferably in the chemical industry or related field.
Strong understanding of chemical lab practices, including familiarity with vendors, chemicals, recipes, protocols, safety measures, and equipment commonly used in chemical operations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
Detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to chemical lab operations.
