Manager, Quality Control


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Overall management of quality control activities; oversee the development and implementation of robust systems and procedures to ensure evaluation, measurement and improvement of processes
  • Manage incoming, in-process, packaging, labeling and finished product inspection functions
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including training, planning, directing and appraising performance
  • Oversee management of the non-conformance system and participate in efforts toward continuous process improvement and business automation
  • Oversee the management of calibration/preventive maintenance of all equipment and tools
  • Oversee sterilization validations and monitoring
  • Oversee monitoring of environmentally controlled areas
  • Ensure the Quality Control department complies with ISO and regulatory regulations; Provide subject matter expertise of US and international medical device regulations.
  • Support audits to demonstrate compliance of quality control systems

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing direct reports in a Quality Control function
  • Manufacturing and sterilization (including cleanroom) experience
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques.
  • Must be team-oriented and collaborative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to work with others in a professional positive and collaborative manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness to learn, possess a can-do attitude, and motivated to succeed and grow
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
  • A confident leader able to proactively solve problems and resolve issues

EDUCATION:

  • BS/MS in Engineering or Life Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to interface with a variety of people and be able to work as part of a team
  • Exceptional proof reading and quality control skills
  • Experience working with an MRP interfacing system
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment as part of a cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated track record working with limited direction to produce high quality work
  • Proven Ability to provide logical, in-depth analysis of a problem or situation
