Hiring Organization: Connexion Systems & Engineering
General Summary:
The Materials Handler unloads and receives inbound shipments, working with operations and manufacturing teams to support the routine operation and organization of the facilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform routine receiving activities for supplies and equipment arriving to the site, including materials receipt, and stocking; properly labels and stores materials in accordance with company standards
· Enter data on received items into ERP system
· Distribute received materials to internal customers per purchase order or end user requests
· Unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintain records of received goods, reject unsatisfactory items if necessary
· Execute other daily support operations related to tracking materials, materials allocation to company sites, materials stocking, materials movement and delivery
· Monitor inventory levels and alert supply chain of any gaps versus plan
· Prepare kitting packages for assembly production
· Monitor materials expiry, material lot changes and inventory re-supply for assigned programs
· Coordinate the return and the replacement of defect materials from sites to vendors, in close partnership with the supply chain colleagues
· Perform tasks in a manner consistent with the safety policies, quality systems, and GMP requirements
· Additional responsibilities to support Materials Management as designated by management
Knowledge and Skills:
· Ability to follow existing procedures accurately
· Developing experience in domestic and international shipping of cold chain products in the Biotech/Lifesciences industry and its associated documentation
· Organizational, record-keeping and communication skills (verbal and written)
· Computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, or Outlook)
· Understanding of good documentation practices
· Dangerous Goods Shipping Certified (IATA and DOT) (preferred not required)
· Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting moderately heavy boxes, prolonged standing, pushing gas tanks, etc.
Education and Experience:
· High School or secondary school diploma
· Typically requires 2 years of experience in warehouse/materials management or the equivalent combination of experience and education in related field
