SUMMARY:

The Production Manager will lead the Sterile and non-sterile production areas ensuring production goals are achieved while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards, helping to deliver our mission to passionately provide solutions to improve the quality of life for everyone.

The Production Manager is a member of the Operations Management Team that will oversee day-to-day operations consistent with organizational safety, quality, delivery, innovation, cost, and continuous improvement pillars. The incumbent will supervise the production associates as well as develop and implement process improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality. 

This is a hands-on role requiring an individual who is a team player, and change agent, has excellent communication skills, and the ability to concurrently drive and manage multiple initiatives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

The incumbent may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity.
 
  1. Manage all production operations with a focus on continuous quality improvement, on-time delivery, efficiency, lower costs and support of all internal and external customers.  This includes staffing levels and training.
  2. Develop and implement plans to significantly decrease turnaround time to lower required inventory.
  3. Work with quality and manufacturing engineering to continuously reduce NCMRs and evaluate processes via root cause analysis.
  4. Develop and execute plans for 15% per year growth leveraging internal and external resources for two critical strategies.  First is to propose what components should be outsourced versus machined in house.  Second is to develop local machining partners to better handle un-forecasted peaks and valleys in demand.
  5. Chair and drive the safety committee.
  6. Apply knowledge and experience with continuous improvement, statistical process control (SPC) and lean manufacturing processes such as value stream mapping, 5S, SMED (quick changeover), mistake-proofing and Kaizen blitz.
  7. Develop and maintain metrics for machining production measures and improvements.
  8. Define and/or approve machining specifications, control sand tooling needs to produce finished products.
  9. Coordinate facilities maintenance.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may be required to perform other non-essential functions. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested by their supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Plus is a BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on assembly operations, or equivalent experience.  BSME preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years progressive supervisory or management experience, preferably in a regulated industry such as ISO 13485.
  3. Experience developing and executing material flow plans to achieve production requirements.
  4. Project management, equipment procurement and machining operation experience coupled with a proven track record of bottom line results necessary.
  5. Superior people skills needed to effectively interface with employee issues, customer needs and supplier issues as they relate to production requirements.
  6. Proven record of accomplishment of operational improvements including cycle time reductions, tooling cost improvements and performance output.
