Sales / Service Contract Administrator

Responsible for the sale of and administrative tasks associated with US service contract sales efforts. This includes the actual selling effort. Specific areas of focus include the selling of the contracts themselves. Opportunities are generated from contract renewals, warranty conversions, and conversions from billable services. Performance is measured by actual sales order revenue as well as deferred contracts revenue.

Works with the VP of Service to identify contract sales markets. Builds a sales program to target those segments. Responsible for all administrative, educational, reporting, and summary tasks associated with this effort. The focus of this position is to attain service contract goals through the education of staff, campaigns actual selling, and promotions. The focus of the position will be to target programs and promotion areas. To measure the performance of staff.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Market the value of contract coverage
    • Work with VP Service to set realistic contract targets
    • Develop service promotions, keying on specific segments of the business
  • Meet goals for contract revenue, specifically contracts sold and service revenue
    • Develop a field rep contract sales seminar
      • Address common questions, fears, issues, etc. in a 1-day class
      • Class scheduled regionally throughout the year
    • Develop standard sales approaches that focus on contract value
      • Typical MTBF / service costs, etc.
    • Increase customer satisfaction
      • Help to develop contracts for low usage or close proximity customers
  • Process Service contracts for renewals, warranty or time & material conversions
    • Send quotes out at least 30 days in advance
    • Assist customers and service staff to expedite sale
    • Complete all paperwork to support this effort
  • Report progress on contract marketing programs via monthly reports and updates
    • Contract forecasting, renewal & warranty capture rates
    • Trending of sales, based on social economic, technical issues
    • Performance of staff involved in the direct sales process
    • Current status as compared to forecasted goals
    • Problem sales, based on customer reliability
    • Customer perceptions on service department

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate is an experienced commissions – driven Seller of service contracts and services offerings. The ideal candidate is comfortable in sharing insights, perspectives, and skills with other team members. This position requires at least (2) years’ experience in selling service offerings. Some contract administration is a PLUS. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent combined with the above experience level.
