Description:
The Lab Support Associate role focuses on providing essential lab support services, particularly glassware management. The primary responsibility is handling, cleaning, and inspecting lab glassware and plasticware, ensuring compliance with safety and procedural standards. Additional duties include cross-training in other lab support functions, maintaining equipment, and adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Key Responsibilities:
Manage glassware cleaning, including pickup, inspection, and autoclaving.
Operate lab equipment (washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic baths).
Maintain records, ensure inventory levels, and report deficiencies.
Support cross-functional teams and assist in additional lab tasks.
Requirements:
Education: BS in life sciences.
Experience: 6+ months in lab research (industry or academic, mass spectrometry a bonus); prior glassware handling preferred.
Skills: Detail-oriented, organized, effective communicator, capable of physical tasks (e.g., lifting 25 lbs).
Tech Proficiency: MS Office and Google Suite.
Work Environment:
Laboratory setting requiring PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
May involve exposure to biohazards and ergonomic challenges.
High job pace with potential for hazardous waste management.
The role is ideal for a motivated individual with laboratory experience and a focus on safety and precision, with potential for long-term growth.
