Senior Program Manager

SUMMARY:

• In this vital role, you will be a strategic partner to leaders of the Product Teams in the success of the program's strategic vision, act as the “COO” for multiple programs.
• Key position to lead teams to deliver project(s) that span across multiple departments
• Manage cross-functional activities around aggressive timelines and escalate critical issues to the Executive Team
• Management and timely escalation of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery

RESPONSIBILITIES:


• The Senior Program Manager will drive the development, creation, and implementation of high quality, global, coordinated cross-functional project plans for products in accordance with the program strategy in partnership with the Program Leader
• Managing a portfolio of complex initiatives that span multiple departments
• Project Manages the effective operations of cross-functional program teams, focused on the development of one or more disease area programs
• Partners with Project Management and Regulatory team members and other cross-functional leads to develop high quality, integrated, cross-functional plans for cross-functional sub-teams that are aligned with the overall program strategy
• Responsible for maintaining and updating program dashboards for assigned program team(s)
• Providing leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
• Conducts the risk management and scenario planning and develops contingency and/or risk mitigation plans
• Providing status reports regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership
• Working with teams to procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery
Delegate and oversee tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
• Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence

QUALIFICATIONS:


• A Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related business discipline is required, an advanced degree is preferred along with at least 4 to 10 years of project management experience in the Pharmaceutical or related Life Sciences industry.
• Strong knowledge in drug discovery and development and/ or clinical research or related health sciences field
• Experience in partnering with P&L leads across the organization to meet strategic goals
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Well-developed program leadership and strategic thinking skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually
• Ability to influence without authority and to act as a leader on a wide range of complex activities where judgment and expertise are critical to project success
