AVAILABLE WORK SCHEDULES (Mon-Fri)
  • 1st Shift:  8:30 am – 5:00 pm - 2 employees - $17/hr
  • 2nd Shift:  2:00 pm – 10:30 pm - 2 employees - $18/hr
  • 3rd Shift:  10:00 pm - 6:30 am - 2 employees - $19.50/hr

 

Specimen Processor
 

Duties:

  • A Specimen Processor receives, inspects, and prepares donor plasma and serum samples for testing in a high-volume source plasma testing laboratory.
  • Typically requires no previous related experience.
  • Receive and process incoming samples in preparation of testing.
  • Process sample cancellations and resubmissions.
  • Perform daily sample reconciliation.
  • Process sample resubmissions and cancellations.
  • Clean and disinfect work areas, and empty biohazardous waste.
  • Accountability for department appearance and organization.

 

Skills:

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English. 
  • Writing must be legible and neat. 
  • Must have basic math and computer skills.
  • Effective phone and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Must have the ability to apply rational thinking and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. 
  • Must possess the ability to deal with problems within the guidelines of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Vision Test required (acuity, close & distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus). 

 

OCCUPATIONAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is performed in a laboratory environment. 
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, talk and hear.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. 
  • The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment.
