Job Summary:
Responsible for leading product and process transition programs to improve quality and costs. Responsible for supervision of cross-functional teams and engineering projects. Responsible for program planning & scheduling, resource management, program budget, project metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives related to internal, contract and refurbished manufacturing.  Ownership of all aspects of the program including, but not limited to process/production documentation, risk management, resource management and executive reporting. Strengthen operational excellence through appropriate stewardship of resources.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below-mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
  • Lead projects, from product concept to retirement, ensuring required resources are applied to achieve objectives in the areas of on-time delivery, features, cost (on-budget), and quality.
  • Lead projects in post-commercialization phase, with a focus on product sustenance, quality improvement, and productivity improvement.
  • Develop and maintain status reporting for the product/process transitions including performance analysis.
  • Establish and lead a cross-functional team from R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Operations through the operations process lifecycle phases. Plan, track, and publish status of required project deliverables.
  • Establish and drive the creation of Product build and test documentation by partnering with quality and external partners and OEMs to enable distribution of technology/ products.
  • Create and evaluate options with data and present recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Project cost and resource tracking; Product cost tracking.
  • Responsible for creating and presenting Executive updates.
  • Educate and mentor the Supply Chain and broader organization on program management.
  • Track and report any product changes/revisions and drive the changes through the ECO process.
  • Assure compliance with worldwide regional registration requirements.
  • Experience developing medical devices in an ISO and FDA regulated environment.
  • Lead project teams with a high level of urgency, driving alignment and decisions cross-functionally across the organization.
  • Supports design for manufacturability/assembly/test.
  • Act as a change management leader / influencer to mature process and ensure new processes and procedures are appropriately understood and adopted within the organization.
  • Build, lead, develop and coach a high performing team culture with clear responsibilities, empowerment, performance management engagement, and recognition for exceptional performance.
  • Ensure compliance and quality with all regulatory matters and quality targets established to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Knows, understands, communicates and facilitates a safe work culture, ensuring compliance with all company safety/environmental and housekeeping policies.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes and productivity by leveraging production data.
  • Enhance KPI weekly reporting and overall governance with bi-weekly KPI updates to the CEO.
  • implement root cause and corrective actions as necessary to ensure successful manufacturing.
  • Analyze and improve operations (mfg, service, remanufacturing) processes as needed to track improvement processes.
  • Drive cross-functional innovation and best practice sharing including with contract manufacturer.
  • Develop and implement strategies to deliver consistent manufacturing and remanufacturing delivery, identifying gaps and developing solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives including procurement, planning, finance, engineering, etc

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
Masters degree preferred

Experience
12+ years relevant experience
Specific Related Experience: Manufacturing experience in a medical device industry
Experience leading teams of >40

Skills
  • Broad experience in Engineering program and process management with a track record of successful product launch/transition at OEM or CM
  • Technical electromechanical knowledge with engineering skills
  • Strong communication, human relations, and safety awareness skills are essential
  • Experience leading an organization of professionals
  • Experience manufacturing medical devices in an ISO and FDA regulated environment
  • Strong experience with MS project (or equivalent), PLM tools and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Experience with development of capital energy-based equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with sterile disposable medical devices, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership and interdepartmental collaboration. 
  • Familiar with FDA/QSR, ISO/MDR and applicable industry standards.
  • Familiar with DOE, DFM, LEAN and Design for 6 Sigma techniques is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager/Leader bringing products from concept to launch on time and on schedule.
  • Strong leadership skills and cooperative positive attitude is a must.
