a smooth supply of components in a highly demanding environment, across several value streams ranging from low volume/high mix to high volume/low mix in the Defense market. In addition, all decisions and activities should be aligned that the competitiveness of slip ring is secured or improved.

- Tasks and competences
The following tasks have to be carried out by the job holder himself:
- Manage purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory and services in a cost effective and timely manner
- Develop long term agreements with key suppliers that will lead to greater delivery flexibility and exceptional quality.
- Monitor long-term material demand. Ensure customer (i.e. plant) requirements are thoroughly satisfied.
- Understand material quality requirements and how they can be used in supplier selection.
- Create /optimize value from suppliers.
- Work closely with engineers and department managers in new product development, DFM, and identifying best in class domestic suppliers.
- Works to identify contract manufacturing options for areas where internal resources or internal process capabilities are limited
- Identify alternate sources of supply for single//sole source components
Minimum Requirements
Â
- BS/MS in Business or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably within a precision manufacturing environment.
- Solid knowledge of SAP is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience within the Defense purchasing arena.
- Ability to balance both tactical executions with strategic initiatives necessary to guarantee quality of supplied parts.
- Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes, components and supply chain management. Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints specific to the manufacturing process.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Professional certification is desirable
- Proven ability to work as a team player
- Proficiency in troubleshooting supply issues
- If necessary, maintain the basic data and default values in SAP (target / actual comparisons).
- Participate innecessary kick-off meetings, departmental meetings, project meetings, CDR's.
- The job holder is required, in addition to the tasks listed above, to carry out individual assignments on the instructions of the supervisor, which are essentially part of his / her job or result from operational necessities.
- The jobholder also undertakes to be employed for a short period of time outside the location in compliance with organizational requirements (business travel guidelines, time system specifications, guideline for service assignments), if this is to be ascribed to his / her activity.
