Need machine operation within manufacturing; experience with vacuum disposition chambers and vacuum chamber coating with optics or semiconductors.
- Load and operate optical vacuum deposition chamber coating equipment in a process driven manufacturing environment.
- Provide expert technical evaluation on coating manufacturing, process development, and quality with respect to creating work standards and troubleshooting manufacturing problems.
- Perform assembly, maintenance, and setup of chamber equipment and support apparatus as needed.
- Maintain preventive maintenance procedures and record keeping requirements per site policy.
- Operate metrology tools for the characterization of thin film results in the manufacturing process.
- Maintain all production, process, quality and equipment records as required.
People:
- Evaluate coating performance (adhesion, abrasion, spectral, etc.) and work with engineers to troubleshoot the manufacturing process as needed.
- Mentor coating technicians within the group and address issues concerning training, problem solving, or other issues than may arise.
- Drive team of technicians to meet production numbers
Performance:
- Ensure that all duties are performed in a timely manner consistent with applicable quality requirements, safety guidelines, and applicable procedures.
- Lead and perform manufacturing job setup of coating machines for high quality optical parts produced on-time and on schedule to internal planning and customer commitments
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements
- 7+ years of thin film coating experience using and maintaining e-beam vacuum deposition chambers
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 3+ years of experience supervising optical technicians
- Experience handling and inspecting optical components
- Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, specifically).
- Position requires a person who is meticulous and quality conscious; motivated and creative problem solver.
