Title: ThinFilm Coating Operators
Organization: Connexion Systems & Engineering

• Load and operate optical vacuum deposition chamber coating equipment in a process driven manufacturing environment.
• Provide expert technical evaluation on coating manufacturing, process development, and quality with respect to creating work standards and troubleshooting manufacturing problems.
• Perform assembly, maintenance, and setup of chamber equipment and support apparatus as needed.
• Maintain preventive maintenance procedures and record keeping requirements per site policy.
• Operate metrology tools for the characterization of thin film results in the manufacturing process.
• Maintain all production, process, quality and equipment records as required.

People:

• Evaluate coating performance (adhesion, abrasion, spectral, etc.) and work with engineers to troubleshoot the manufacturing process as needed.
• Mentor coating technicians within the group and address issues concerning training, problem solving, or other issues than may arise.
• Drive team of technicians to meet production numbers

Performance:

• Ensure that all duties are performed in a timely manner consistent with applicable quality requirements, safety guidelines, and applicable procedures.
• Lead and perform manufacturing job setup of coating machines for high quality optical parts produced on-time and on schedule to internal planning and customer commitments
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of thin film coating experience using and maintaining e-beam vacuum deposition chambers
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• 3+ years of experience supervising optical technicians

• Experience handling and inspecting optical components

• Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, specifically).
• Position requires a person who is meticulous and quality conscious; motivated and creative problem solver.
