Description:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Medical Affairs to support strategic and operational medical affairs activities within the cholestatic disease space, including biliary atresia.
This role will play a key part in shaping U.S. medical strategy, supporting clinical research, and driving scientific communication initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in Medical Affairs along with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, highly scientific environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of U.S. medical strategies
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) across disease area and product initiatives
- Support clinical research activities, including study design, execution, and analysis
- Lead and contribute to scientific communications (publications, presentations, and materials)
- Plan and execute advisory boards
- Review and approve medical and promotional content
- Partner with internal teams to develop training materials and scientific resources
- Support medical education programs and grant activities
- Collaborate with Medical Information and Communications teams to ensure accuracy of materials
- Attend scientific congresses and provide insights and coverage
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, primarily in Medical Affairs
- Strong experience supporting cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Preferred:
- Experience in Rare Disease or Liver/GI therapeutic areas
- Product launch experience
- Background in scientific publications and presentations
Education
- Advanced scientific degree required (MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD preferred)
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule preferred (approximately 2 days onsite per week in Boston, MA)
- Remote candidates may be considered
