Description:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead large-scale capital construction projects within an active pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role will support major site master planning and capital investment initiatives, overseeing construction execution and ensuring safe, high-quality delivery of complex projects.

The construction portfolio for this position is approximately $100M in value.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring daily field oversight, strong technical knowledge of regulated environments, and experience supporting packaging facility buildouts and equipment installations.

Key Responsibilities
Construction Execution & Leadership
  • Direct and oversee construction delivery teams including internal stakeholders, third-party construction management partners, and safety resources.
  • Manage assigned construction scope to ensure safe execution, quality workmanship, and functional delivery outcomes.
  • Provide hands-on, daily oversight of field activities and progress.
  • Partner with on-site engineering teams, system owners, and design teams to meet construction milestones.
  • Proactively identify site issues and remove execution barriers.
  • Review and resolve construction change notices as required.
  • Maintain schedule adherence by engaging field teams and utilizing site collaboration tools.
Safety & Compliance
  • Drive a strong construction safety culture aligned with internal safety standards.
  • Lead coordination of construction activities within an operating facility, including implementation of clean construction practices.
Cost, Schedule & Reporting
  • Review monthly cost reports and payment applications submitted by construction partners.
  • Support project controls with change request evaluations, invoice review, and monthly reporting.
  • Provide weekly updates on progress, risks, and milestones.
  • Deliver monthly reporting on project financials, schedule performance, and risk status.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated schedule including design, construction, commissioning/qualification, validation, and turnover.
Turnover & Operational Readiness
  • Ensure proper turnover of construction documentation, test records, certifications, and installed asset documentation.
  • Support development of SOPs, preventive maintenance schedules, and quality documentation for installed electrical assets.
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, municipal authorities, and local utility providers as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years managing capital construction projects.
  • Strong pharmaceutical construction experience within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with pharma and biologics packaging facilities, including equipment and packaging line installations.
  • Knowledge of hygienic design principles, cleanroom electrical standards, and validation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle (design through turnover).
  • Experience using project management tools, scheduling systems, and web-based collaboration platforms.

Additional Requirements
  • Background in pharmaceutical manufacturing engineering across operations, maintenance, or capital project execution.
  • Willingness to travel 20–50% on average, with increased onsite presence during active construction phases.
