  • Pay rate: $25 - $32.54/hr (based on experience)

Description:
We're seeking an experienced Lab Computing Analyst to support a large-scale Windows 11 upgrade and IT asset management initiative within a laboratory environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving complex endpoint issues, and working directly with researchers and laboratory staff.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy, upgrade, configure, and troubleshoot Windows 11 (LTS, Pro, and Enterprise) systems.
  • Build and configure Windows workstations manually, including custom hardware and software configurations.
  • Support laboratory computers, scientific instruments, and specialized lab software throughout Windows migration projects.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware including printers, scanners, cameras, expansion cards, and other peripherals.
  • Utilize SCCM to deploy software packages and assist with troubleshooting deployment issues.
  • Work directly with end users, researchers, and third-party vendors to coordinate system upgrades and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain support tickets and technical documentation using ServiceNow and JIRA.
  • Perform room-by-room IT hardware inventories using inventory scanners or RFID technology.
  • Update and reconcile asset information across internal asset management systems.
  • Generate inventory status reports and collaborate with IT and Facilities teams to resolve discrepancies.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience supporting and deploying Windows 11 (LTS, Pro, and Enterprise).
  • Experience manually installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows workstations.
  • Experience supporting laboratory computers, laboratory instruments, or scientific software.
  • Strong hardware installation and troubleshooting skills, including peripherals and specialized devices.
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM.
  • Experience using ServiceNow and JIRA.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IT asset management and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with inventory scanning or RFID asset tracking tools.
  • Experience supporting research or laboratory environments.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security, access control, and system documentation best practices.
