Job Title: Leave Management Specialist
Pay Rate: $28.00 to $31.00 per Hour
Location: Boston MA 02115
Duration: 6 months

  • Potential to extend to 12 months and convert perm for the right candidate and if there is an opportunity for it.
Job Description:
  • Coordinate and administer all aspects of employee leaves of absence based on assigned caseload to ensure compliance with our policies, federal and state leave regulations while providing instruction, guidance and excellent customer service to employees and managers.
  • Consult, coordinate, and partner with HR Business Partners, Legal, Payroll, and Benefits team members and other departments as appropriate.
  • Provide leave administration that is consistent, timely and accurate in accordance with internal SLAs.
  • Ensure that pay and benefits are accurately explained to employees during the leave of absence including when/if employee returns to work.
  • Provide customer support for questions related to leaves of absences, and their benefits while on leave, through direct employee contact and interfacing with external vendors when required.
  • Performs day to day administrative related duties for leave of absence and to support the Absence Management unit.
  • Facilitate a smooth return to work for employees Coordinate as appropriate with Sr. Leave Management Specialist on case related questions and complex cases.
  • Seeks guidance from Sr. Leave Management Specialists on best practices for case management.
  • Engage in discussion and partners with Associate Director for Absence Management to provide recommendations for process improvement and system enhancements.
  • Remains knowledgeable about benefits as it relates to leaves of absence and long-term disability in order to respond to benefit questions that arise.
  • Keep abreast of leave related statutory/regulatory changes and best practices. Other job duties as assigned to assist with HR and Absence Management functions. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience required, with direct case management experience preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail, follow through and responsiveness, as well and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent communications skills are required, both written and oral. Working knowledge of state and federal and state laws and regulations related to leaves.
  • Computer skills: Excel, Access, Word and experience with Workday a plus.
