Description:
We are seeking an experienced Reagent Bulk & Fill Technician IV to support the manufacturing of clinical and commercial diagnostic reagents. This role is responsible for bulk formulation, filling operations, material preparation, and final product assembly in a regulated production environment.
This position requires flexibility to work variable shifts and adapt to production schedules, including potential weekend work.
- Variable shift based on production needs:
- Morning: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Candidates may be required to support both shifts
- Advance notice of shift changes will be communicated based on operational needs
Manufacturing & Operations
- Manufacture bulk reagents and clinical/commercial kits
- Perform bulking, filling, aliquoting, and packaging processes
- Prepare and stage raw materials for production
- Accurately weigh, measure, and verify materials and components
- Conduct in-process visual inspections of temperature-sensitive products
- Handle and tray semi-finished goods used in diagnostic kits
- Collect samples for Quality Control (QC) and bio-burden testing
- Receive and verify incoming materials from warehouse
- Execute procedures in compliance with cGMP standards
- Perform ERP transactions (e.g., SAP) for labor tracking and materials
- Maintain accurate Device History Records (DHR)
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot filling equipment
- Lead operation of automated fill machines
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO, and regulatory standards
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Support audit readiness and walkthroughs
- Initiate and support Quality Notifications (QN) and investigations
- Contribute to CAPA activities and continuous improvement efforts
- Review and release Device History Records
- Update and maintain SOPs and manufacturing documentation
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) in assigned process areas
- Coordinate cycle counts and investigate discrepancies
- Act as primary contact for material transfer activities
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Lead equipment troubleshooting and process optimization
- Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives
- Identify and implement 5S and efficiency improvements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of manufacturing areas
- Ensure proper handling of hazardous and biohazardous materials
- Assist packaging operations as needed
- Perform routine maintenance (e.g., refrigerators/freezers, eyewash stations)
- Support additional manufacturing tasks as required
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes in regulated environments
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Associate’s Degree in Biology, Engineering, Mechanics, or related field
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Familiarity with GMP, GDP, and ISO standards
- Advanced laboratory and technical knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Close visual inspection, including color differentiation
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently
- Capability to move heavier items using carts or pallet jacks
- Willingness to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends
