Description:
A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the northern Indianapolis area is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to support production and utility equipment in a highly regulated environment. This role is critical to maintaining equipment reliability, compliance, and uptime within cGMP operations.

This position is 100% onsite. Candidates outside the area will be considered if they are willing to relocate or commute at their own expense.

Schedule Information
  • Training schedule (2-4 weeks): Monday–Friday, daytime hours
  • Shift transition, after training and orientation:
    • Mon–Thurs Nights (7:00 PM – 5:00 AM, 10-hour shifts)
    • Fri–Sun Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts)
    • Fri–Sun Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts)

Candidates must be flexible with schedule changes and willing to work nights/weekends. Please indicate shift preference when applying.

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance on pharmaceutical production and support equipment. This role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience working within cGMP-regulated manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance activities in compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and safety standards
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, and install pharmaceutical-grade machinery and cleanroom equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and update CMMS records accurately
  • Maintain detailed maintenance, calibration, and repair documentation per GMP requirements
  • Inspect equipment for wear, abnormalities, and potential failure risks
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams
  • Support audits and inspections (internal and regulatory)
  • Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in accordance with GMP housekeeping standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of GMP maintenance experience
  • 4–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing
  • Strong experience supporting process systems
  • Background aligned with FDA-regulated industries (pharma, biotech, food & beverage, healthcare, etc.)
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and around chemicals
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and meters (DVM, amp, and ohm)
  • Flexibility to support rotating shifts, including nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems
  • Exposure to equipment qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Experience with aseptic processing, HVAC systems, or utilities
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and FDA audits
  • Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience using lathes, mills, grinders, and precision measurement tools
  • First Aid or CPR certification
