Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Signal Processing Engineer to support signal processing analysis, testing, and validation efforts for advanced RF communications and sensing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF test engineering, digital signal processing, phased array systems, and automated test development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support signal processing analysis for advanced RF communications and sensing applications.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive RF test strategies, procedures, and automation frameworks.
  • Perform RF system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Analyze large test datasets and generate actionable technical insights using MATLAB or similar engineering tools.
  • Conduct RF performance testing, including EVM, ACPR, phase noise, spurious emissions, and related transmitter measurements.
  • Perform far-field and near-field antenna pattern measurements.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
  • Collaborate with RF engineers, software developers, systems engineers, and program managers throughout the development and test lifecycle.
  • Prepare technical documentation and communicate test results to internal stakeholders.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in RF, phased array, or software-defined radio (SDR) test engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting engineering test programs, schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • 7+ years of experience developing test strategies, test automation frameworks, procedures, and scripting using Python, C++, or similar languages.
  • 7+ years of experience with digital signal processing (DSP).
  • 5–10 years of experience with RF systems, propagation, modulation, frequency planning, and link budget analysis.
  • 5–10 years of experience troubleshooting complex RF and digital system issues.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience using RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers (VNAs), signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • 5–10 years of experience performing RF performance measurements, including EVM, ACPR, phase noise, spurious emissions, and related transmitter metrics.
  • 5–10 years of experience conducting far-field and near-field antenna pattern measurements.
  • 5–10 years of experience analyzing large test datasets using MATLAB or similar engineering tools.
  • 3–5 years of experience with phased array systems, including beamforming, beam steering, and array calibration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with FCC, NTIA, ITU, and/or MIL-STD standards.
  • Understanding of phase-coherent multi-channel RF systems and precision timing requirements.
  • Experience integrating SDR hardware with phased array antennas and RF front-end systems.
  • Knowledge of FPGA-based hardware acceleration for signal processing applications.
  • Experience with embedded software development and real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Work Environment

  • Position requires regular onsite laboratory work, including hardware integration, testing, debugging, and collaboration in secure engineering environments.
  • Candidates should expect to work onsite approximately four days per week, with one remote day initially.

Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is required.
  • An active Secret clearance is preferred; an interim clearance may be sufficient to begin work.
