Location: Cambridge, MA
  • The firm operates on a hybrid schedule with the majority of their positions (3 days in, 2 days remote)
Salary: $135K - 165K
  • Bonuses are discretionary on a year-to-year basis, but employees usually do receive them. Start date determines eligibility.
 

Position Summary:

The Private Client Department is seeking an experienced Trust Operations Manager to lead the daily operational, custody, and transaction processing functions of our growing Fiduciary Services group. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on mastery of fiduciary software systems and a strong background in trust operations. The Trust Operations Manager oversees trust systems, processes, and service delivery in support of PCD's personal trust, estate and agency accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train and mentor a small team of Trust Operations Specialists, fostering a highly collaborative, innovative operational culture
  • Manage and coordinate all activities of the trust operations group, overseeing day-to-day operations including account opening, money movements, trade settlements and corporate action processing, account reconciliations, statement production, fee processing, etc.
  • Provide trust operations support, knowledge and expertise to PCD attorneys, serving as the technical liaison for complex fiduciary reporting, custom requests and transaction troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with other department leaders to improve cross-team execution, alignment, and partnership
  • Serve as the lead contact for the relationship with our external fiduciary accounting platform provider; liaise with various external business partners and service providers, including investment advisors 
  • Design and implement operational frameworks and procedures with a focus on automation, accuracy, and efficiency in daily operations, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards
  • Manage system configurations, user permissions, transaction mapping, account onboarding, and setup and monitoring of special assets with a focus on overall trust platform optimization
  • Serve as a primary operational contact for fiduciary compliance reviews, ensuring maintenance of accurate transaction logs and authorization records
  • Lead or contribute to fiduciary business priorities, including growth initiatives, technology optimization, operating model improvements, and strategic projects

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in trust department operations
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Mastery of fiduciary systems/applications
  • Organized, detail-oriented, execution-focused, and able to handle competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members within the firm, demonstrating exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professionalism, integrity, and discretion with confidential information
  • Professional designations such as CSOP or CTOP are highly desirable
  • Familiarity with SEI platform for trust administration and custodial services strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

This position offers a compensation range of $135,000 to $165,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. Staff may also be eligible for discretionary year-end bonuses and annual merit-based increases. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401 (k) retirement plan and paid time off.
